Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Imakita Industry ("we", "us") handles your information in the mokumokuren desktop application (the "App") and on this website.

1. Information We Collect​

Account (only if you register)​

  • Email address (managed by Google Firebase Authentication). In the Japanese edition, some features such as the Inbox require a free account.
  • Your newsletter consent status (only if you opt in)
  • Subscription state (Pro only; plan, validity, etc., stored in Google Cloud Firestore)
  • Customer and subscription IDs issued by Stripe (Pro only)

Payments​

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card details never pass through or reside on our servers. Stripe's handling is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Website & distribution​

  • Access logs (IP addresses, etc.) may be recorded by our hosting providers (Firebase Hosting for this site, GitHub for downloads) as part of their standard operation.
  • The App's auto-update feature contacts GitHub servers to check for updates.

Website analytics​

This website uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service. GoatCounter uses no cookies and no persistent identifiers; it collects only aggregate statistics such as pages viewed, referrer, and browser type. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect​

The following stays on your device only and is never sent to us:

  • Your social-network login credentials (cookies, sessions)
  • Ingested drafts and Inbox contents
  • What you view or post on each social network
  • MCP connection tokens

3. Purposes of Use​

  • Authenticating Pro accounts and managing subscriptions
  • Processing payments and billing communication
  • Preventing fraudulent use
  • Responding to inquiries
  • Only with your consent, sending news about new features (you can unsubscribe anytime via the link in each email)
  • Improving the Service (statistical analysis)

4. Sharing with Third Parties​

We do not share personal information with third parties except:

  • with processors needed for the purposes above (Stripe, Inc. / Google LLC (Firebase) / GitHub, Inc. / The Rocket Science Group LLC (Mailchimp — newsletter opt-ins only));
  • where disclosure is required by law;
  • with your consent.

5. Retention​

Account information is retained while your account exists. Upon a deletion request, we delete it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights​

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us below. We respond in accordance with Canada's PIPEDA and other applicable laws.

For EEA and UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)​

  • Legal bases: processing related to Pro accounts and billing is based on performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)); fraud prevention on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). We perform no consent-requiring tracking.
  • Rights: in addition to the above, you may request restriction of processing, object to processing, exercise data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • International transfers: personal information may be processed by our processors in Canada and the United States (Google / Stripe / GitHub), each of which maintains lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Canada holds an EU adequacy decision.

7. Children's Privacy​

The Service is not directed to children under 13.

8. Changes​

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this website.
